Cauldronluck Minutes

 

December 9, 2007-12-11

 

Meeting was called to order at 11:14 by Arlene Davis; Brandyn started Moon School at the same time.  Board members Dian Curran, Peg Dearden, Patrick Campion, and Raya Fand were present.  Jim Roker arrived late, and Morgan Canady had previously advised the Board that she would be absent.  Fifteen people in all were at the meeting when convened. 

 

Arlene read the opening blessing, from A Book of Pagan Prayer by Ceisiwr Serith. 

 

Reports and Announcements:

The new email new flyer has been sent out, Arlene asked for comments.  Carol Garr approved of having the Sweet Tomatoes coupons handy, John George likes the correspondence between the flyer and the webpage as a check on each other. 

 

One new member has joined, David Foster, and there are two new subscribers to Tapestry. 

 

Treasury report, given by Arlene with the figures from the last Board meeting:

            Audit successfully completed

            Bank balance as of BOD $4407.53

            New bank balance            $4422.53

            Available for deposit       $   24.00 new membership & subscription

 

Sweet Tomatoes is locked in for the rest of the calendar year.  The December 17th coupon is on the website and was in the emailed news flyer; the January date will be 01/21/08. 

 

Education Series:

Children’s- Brandyn has the curriculum for the elementary age kids for the year, and themes will be publicized before the Cauldronlucks.  Raven has volunteered to monitor the teens and the tweens in a discussion group, which will be scheduled as needed with themes yet to come. 

Adult- We now have the Himmel Park Library meeting room reserved for the series, which is on the first Sunday of each month at 2pm.  The room can be reserved three months in advance, so at each class we will reserve the room for three months forward.  We will always, therefore, have it reserved for the next three months.  Our Practical Magic series runs as follows:

December –Shielding Why and How? [Arlene Davis] (5 people attended)

January- The Kitchen Witch-Herbs and other useful household items

February-Ethics in Paganism [Dr. Shelly Rabinovitch]

March-Dealing with Deity and Mediumship

April – Ceremonial Magic

May- Meditation – Ways to focus and reenergize yourself

June- Healing self and others
            July-Spell Craft

August- Divination

September-Crafting tools

October-Altars and their purposes

November and December classes have not yet been finalized. 

 

Public Outreach/Community Support:

Raya and Peggie are collecting goodies for Cerridwen Johnson, including cards brought today for signatures.  If members want to bring more stuff for her, more packages will be sent.  Today there are also Yule cards for long-distance member Troy Thacker and his wife Chandra Nelson, see a Board member after the meeting to sign one.

John George: The calendar on the Forum sends out updates.  He has been asked to have the person in charge of any event to look at the information and correct any mistakes before the seven-day and one-day email reminders.
