Cauldronluck Minutes TAWN
Board Meeting Meeting was called to order by Arlene Davis at Announcements: Morgan’s email is incorrect on the list emailed out; the double N in “morganna” should be only a single N. Arlene will get a duplicate key made for the P O Box and give it to Patrick when it is ready. Arlene will create a new monthly flier for mailing to the general membership, similar to what Ashleen used to send out, and ideas and contributions are welcome. If any emails are sent out on TAWN business between Board members, please copy all Board members to encourage better communication. Storage: General discussion about storage; while we appreciate using Ashleen’s closet it is neither convenient nor is it really fair to her. It was agreed we should consider other storage options, and since no Board member has space available Arlene will research prices of commercially available storerooms and report back to the Board for further consideration.
Arlene will work with Brandyn on updating the Locations: Tissha brought up that we are not going to be able to use Bookman’s for Sunday afternoon classes as both Bookman’s have the meeting room reserved on a continual basis by other groups. We discussed options, including public parks, library meeting rooms, private houses, and the Black Rose Café, but were unable to arrive at a solution. Tissha will continue to investigate options for the Adult Education series and will welcome suggestions. Board meetings will be held at Arlene’s and Patrick’s houses (the two most central ones), alternating months. Next month will be at Arlene’s. Raya voiced a concern about Patrick’s dogs, and Patrick agreed to sequester them during the meetings. Adult Education: Members have voiced concerns about the Adult Education
series being too basic and too uninteresting, resulting in little or no
attendance. The Board discussed and
approved the idea of teaching more advanced topics in the hopes of raising
attendance. Patrick suggested the
series name of Practical magic (which he credited to Llewellyn Publishing) and
the suggestion was adopted. The
first class will be on Shielding and will discuss how and why to use it.
Class will start at Open Rituals:
Oak and Arlene will work on getting us volunteers to host open rituals;
we have none reserved at this point!
They urgently seek a facilitator for Yule, which is tentatively set for
Sunday December 23rd at
Imbolc on February 3rd Ostara on March 23rd (also the date of Easter Sunday) Beltane on May 4th Summer Solstice on June 22nd Lammas on August 3rd Mabon (at Fall Fest) on September 20th Samhain on November 2nd Yule on December 21st There was some concern and discussion about date choices,
especially for Ostara and for Samhain, but it was noted that the facilitating
group or individual is free to overrule the suggestion and lead the ritual at
the time, date, and place of their choosing.
In the interests of consistency, though, all rituals are set for Sweet Tomatoes: No one present had the contact info to set up fun-raisers, so Arlene will contact Ashleen to get the data and to start setting these up again. Tentatively, we will have them on the third Monday of each month and at both locations, just as we have been doing. Closing Comments:
Running out of time, we addressed remaining issues.
Cauldronluck dates are the second Sunday of each month, except that we
meet on the third Sunday in May to avoid a conflict with Mother’s Day.
Adult Education will be the first Sunday each month, at Meeting was adjourned at |
