The
Tucson Area Wiccan-Pagan Network (TAWN) is sponsoring the noted
mystery writer M. R. Sellars on his trip to Tucson.
Details are at www.tawn.org.
Sellars is best known for the Rowan Gant Investigations
Series, a set of seven murder mysteries with a Wiccan (Witch) as
the protaganist. Book
eight in the series, The End of Desire, is expected out by this Halloween.
Sellars comes by the Pagan framework of his novels
honestly; he has been a Pagan since the late seventies and is
recognized as an Elder. His
Wiccan mysteries and his dark sense of humor
have earned him a reputation as the Pagan Tony Hillerman.
You can read more about Sellars and the Rowan Gant
Investigations Series on his website, www.mrsellars.com.
Mr.
Sellars will spend the Friday evening of his visit meeting with
fans and signing books at a local independent bookstore, Clues
Unlimited. He will be there from 5:00 to 7:00 on the
evening of September 21st.
The store is located at 123 South Eastbourne, in the
Broadway Village shopping center on the southwest corner of
Broadway and Country Club. Their
phone number is 520-326-8533, and you can visit their website at www.cluesunlimited.com.
M. R. Sellars will
also be the Guest of Honor at the twentieth annual Fall Festival,
the annual TAWN fundraiser.
On the Saturday closest to the Fall Equinox, TAWN hosts a
celebratory day in the park - marked with shopping, interactive
workshops, fun and games, contests, and an Open Ritual for the
public to join or watch. This
year, the
Festival will be held in Reid Park on September 22nd,
in and
around Ramadas Five and Six. The
action starts at 9:00 in the morning with lively entertainment:
drum music followed by belly dancing.
Shop at Merchants’ Row or the Silent Auction, get a
reading at the Psychic Fair, sit and learn at the free workshops,
meet and talk with Sellars and other authors, enjoy a lunch from
the Festival, pick up free information on several Pagan religions,
play children’s and adult games, and even pick up a souvenir.
At 6:00, after the dinner break, Silver Midnight Coven will
lead an Open Ritual celebrating the Wiccan Sabbat of Mabon.
TAWN
is a non-profit organization that educates the public about the
Wiccan and Pagan religions, their beliefs and traditions, and
their commitment to the environment.
