Mother Earth Ministries-ATC

Check out our website --
www.Motherearthministries.org for exciting news about ENCHANTMENT ENCUMBERED
-- the first, and so far the only, book written for people whose practice of Wicca
is restricted.
Mother Earth Ministries-ATC
is a Tucson-based neo-Pagan prison ministry. MEM's mission is to provide
accurate information about Wicca and other Pagan faiths to interested inmates
and prison staff; and to facilitate Pagan prisoners' study and practice of
their religions. Affiliated with the internationally recognized and
respected Aquarian Tabernacle Church, MEM is very much a local group of
volunteer priest/esses.
Some of us visit
inmates to lead ritual and offer spiritual counsel; we also correspond with
inmates, answering questions and offering spiritual counsel through letters.
We offer introductory brochures about Wicca, Druidry, and Asatru, and one
about the Wheel of the Year; and single-page flyers about various aspects of
Wicca and neo-Paganism. We have written a 42-page booklet called Wicca
Behind Bars, which we make available free of charge to chaplains and unit
libraries, and which is available to individuals for $8 through Aradia
Designs (P.O. Box 26278, Tucson, 85726).
MEM is not a coven; our
clergy follow different neo-Pagan paths. We don't sell any religious
items, and we don't offer a formal correspondence course or offer initiation
to inmates. Our clergy are not pen-pals, and our visiting priest/esses
may not write to inmates. Further, we are prohibited by the Arizona
Department of Correction's rules from working with inmates upon their
release, other than in a public setting.
Our role is not to
advocate (or assist inmates in lawsuits, no matter how worthy), but to help
inmates deepen their understanding of neo-Paganism and learn how to practice
their religions even with the restrictions imposed by prison life and
regulations. The exercises, spells, and rituals that appear in MEM
literature represent our group effort to create liturgy that will work in
prison, and don't constitute a distinct or specific Tradition. MEM does not
provide books or other religious items, and does not offer correspondence
courses.
MEM is always
looking for qualified volunteers. Our pastorate volunteer application is
downloadable from our website -- www.Motherearthministries.org
-- for those who would like to visit or write to inmates, where
qualifications and procedures are explained. And, MEM is a 501(c)(3)
organization, which means that donations to us are tax-deductible. We
appreciate donations of cash to cover our travel, printing, and mailing
expenses. We are also happy to accept other help. If you're
interested, see one of us at a TAWN cauldron-luck or visit our website for
more information.
A word from our
founder, Lady Carol Garr: Many people have questioned why I spend my time and
energy working with prison inmates. After all, they've probably violated
the Wiccan Rede. They might be violent, dangerous, and/or insincere.
What they did cannot be undone, but most of these inmates will be released
some day, and I'd like to help them change their way of looking at things
before that time. All of us are children of the Goddess. As a
priestess, I feel called to help Her touch the lives of interested inmates so
that they may grow spiritually. To me, it's worth some inconvenience to
help show them the way. There's another aspect of our ministry:
The DOC must provide inmates with their Constitutional right to practice their
religion. However, they know little about "minority" religions
like Wicca. Through us, DOC officials, staff, and chaplains are learning
the truth about our path.

The Grove of the Pine is a Grove of the Druid Clan of Dana,
sister-organization to the Fellowship of Isis. The purpose of the Druid Clan of
Dana is to develop nature's psychic gifts. In the Grove of the Pine, we attune
ourselves to the rhythms of nature by celebrating the cycle of the seasons. We
embrace the wisdom of our Celtic ancestors by exploring nature in a way that
fosters a deep kinship with our Mother Earth and all her creatures, for they are
the teachers of the natural world. Membership in the Grove of the Pine is by
invitation to individuals affiliated with the Fellowship of Isis.

Sonoran Sunrise Grove
Arn Draiocht Fein - ADF
Nora Ford, Senior Druid
The Sonoran Sunrise Grove is the local Tucson affiliate of Ar n'Draiocht Fein -
A Druid Fellowship Our Grove's orientation is Pan-Indo European, meaning we embrace
the Gods and beliefs of all the Indo European peoples (e.g. Ireland, Wales, Scotland,
Gaul, Greek, Roman, Norse, Saxon, Vedic etc.).
We are polytheist, which means that we worship many Gods and Goddesses, who
are not merely parts of some greater whole, but rather complete entities in themselves.
We also worship the Nature Spirits of fur and feather, leaf and stone who inhabit
the world as well as our Ancestors, be they our own forbearers, family of heart or
the ancient peoples of this land.
All ADF Groves are open, public places of worship where the Gods, Nature Spirits
and Ancestors are honored on a regular basis. To this end, we hold public High Day
rituals on all eight of the Neo pagan holidays and weekly rituals and classes on
Saturday mornings. Weekly Rituals are held at 8 am with a potluck to follow. Religious
group worship is also a social gathering for us and all are welcome.
We also perform community service. Our primary project is clean up for the Rillito
River Walk between La Canada and La Cholla. As such, we have become designated caretakers
of the Tucson Sun Circle there.
When in Tucson, feel free to attend one of our public rituals, held on the eight
High Holy Days, Saturday rituals, or come to one of our meetings!

Desert Henge Coven
Desert Henge Coven is one of the oldest Gardnerian covens in Arizona; we
may even be the oldest coven in the state. Descended from the Bone Line of
Whitecroft, the coven practices British Traditional Witchcraft as
interpreted by Gerald Gardner. The group is led by Rick Johnson (HP) and
Shea Hermes (HPS).
DHC holds both Outer Court and Inner Court rituals, and the occasional
public ritual and event whenever possible. We hold weekly classes in
Gardnerian education for serious seekers, which include history, magical
practice, theology, and philosophy -- in addition to practical teachings of
candle, scented oil, incense, and mead making.
Historically, Rick offered an excellent "Intro to Witchcraft" class which
was open to seekers, Pagans of other faiths, and the friends and families
of Pagans. The upcoming "Traditional Wicca" course will include teachings
from Shea and other local Pagans and witches.

Established in 2009, Foursight is the fourth coven in Adventure line. It's led by
co-priestesses Redspyder and Ember Jade. They are initiates of O'Gaea and Canyondancer,
who articulated the Adventure Tradition of Wicca in 1989.
Adventure Wicca's foundations are a brave heart, a hospitable camp, and the urge --
no, the calling -- to see what's around the next bend. A principle business of Adventure
is the confrontation of shadow guardians -- those fears and prejudices that keep our personal
power unavailable to us. We camp, one of our mottoes is "Enter the Forest where the trees
are thickest," and we mix a fair amount of mirth with our reverence. You can meet us at
most TAWN Cauldronlucks. With questions, for more information, or to sign up for "Ad Trad
101" classes, visit www.FoursightAdventureWicca.com
or send an e-mail to AdventureWicca@Comcast.net.
